Gone With The Wind

Margaret Mitchell's 'Gone With The Wind' Turns 75

Whether you’re looking for a golfing getaway, gourmet dining or a fun-filled weekend of shopping - Greensboro, GA has something for you.

The Georgia Chapter of HFMA is excited to host the HFMA Region V Dixie Institute.  Partnered with our Region V sister chapters of Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee Chapters, we invite everyone to  the upcoming 2012 Dixie Institute on February 21 – 24, 2012 in Greensboro, GA.

The 2012 Dixie Institute Committee’s goal is to make this Institute an experience you will find both educational and entertaining. We are “Puttin’ On The Ritz – Dixie Style”!  However, we will emphasize HFMA National Chairperson Greg Adam’s theme of Believe To Achieve  and GA HFMA’s 2011-2012 President Karen Newton’s theme of Survival of the Fittest.  Providers and vendors conducting our educational sessions have personally developed practical approaches to challenges within our industry. In sharing this knowledge, successful results can be achieved by attendees within their own organizations. We will have concurrent tracks featuring topics specifically for “Strategic Finance, Finance and Accounting”; “Updates, Legal Trends, and Compliance“; “Revenue Cycle”; and “Leadership Series”. There will be something for everyone!

Our speakers include David Satcher, M.D., Ph.D., 16th US Surgeon General; Dr. Donald Ratajczak, Consulting Economist and Gregory M. Adams, FHFMA, National Chair.    Since it is the 75th anniversary of Gone With The Wind, Elliot Engel will also have a lively presentation of  “Scarlett Fever: The Greatness of Gone With The Wind”.

As mentioned, we want you to enjoy your time at The Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Plantation in Georgia by shopping in the nearby area or relax at The Spa.  We have planned activities  on Tuesday, February 21.  The Golf Tournament will have a 10 am shotgun start followed by a 19th hole reception.  If it rains, enjoy an afternoon of  Poker instead in the Linger Longer Golf Club. For those wanting to live up to Karen Newton’s theme of Survival of  the Fittest, join us for a 10:30 am 5K Fun Run/Walk.  Or you can just relax at an Afternoon High Tea in the lobby.  A Tour of Homes in Madison is also scheduled for guests/spouses of attendees.  “Madison was voted the Prettiest Small Town in America by Holiday Traveler Magazine and is also called the Town that Sherman Refused to Burn during the Civil War, having been saved because there was an important Northern sympathizer who lived there. His presence was a lucky thing for Madison, since over 100 Antebellum homes are still standing!” ((http://www.madisonga.org/)

See ya in February!
